Fire Safety
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) is a global nonprofit organization, established in 1896, devoted to eliminating death, injury, property and economic loss due to fire, electrical and related hazards. Their mission is to help save lives and reduce loss with information, knowledge and passion. Visit their website to download the many NFPA Safety Tip Sheets they offer, including smoke alarms, home fire sprinklers and carbon monoxide alarms : Public education - NFPA
Home Fire Safety
Firefighters are available by request to come to your home to conduct a “Home Fire Safety Survey.” We look at items such as smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, use of extension cords, and addressing and give you recommendations on how to correct any hazardous situations that may exist in your home. Give us a call Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.
Home Fire Sprinklers
Grand Fire wants residents to know how home fire sprinklers can dramatically reduce the heat, flames, and smoke produced in a fire. Properly installed and maintained fire sprinklers help save lives. Fire sprinklers have been around for more than a century, protecting commercial and industrial properties and public buildings. What many people do not realize is that the same life-saving technology is also available for homes, where roughly 80 percent of all civilian fire deaths occur. The Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition (HFSC) is a leading resource for accurate, noncommercial information and materials about home fire sprinklers for consumers, the fire service, builders, and other professionals.
Business Fire Safety/Code Inspections
Grand Fire also conducts Business Fire Safety/Code Inspections. We provide the necessary code compliance information to business owners with the expectation they will begin their process of correcting any issues that are necessary to meet the 2022 ICC Fire Code requirements. We also gather information about the buildings we visit to be included in our pre-incident planning. This information will be used in training sessions to better prepare our volunteer firefighters to address any issues found in specific businesses. Please contact our office to schedule a fire safety inspection at your convenience. This is a very important effort to improve our community’s fire and life safety.
